Describe what the room needs
Start with the room rather than a roof product. Record where additional daylight would be useful, the ceiling position you have in mind and whether ventilation is also a priority. A skylight and a Sun Tube offer different ways of bringing daylight through the roof. Neither should be selected on the assumption that every roof or room can accept the same arrangement.
Separate daylight from ventilation
The curb-mount skylight range includes fixed, manual-venting and electric-venting configurations. Fixed glazing and an opening unit answer different needs. If you want ventilation, discuss how the unit will be reached or controlled, along with the exact model and available accessories. Do not assume that a pictured control or accessory is included with every configuration.
Review the route through the building
For a Sun Tube, discuss the route between the roof collector and ceiling diffuser. The existing range includes rigid and flexible approaches. Roof framing, building services, distance and changes of direction are information for the project review, not details to resolve from a room photograph alone. For a skylight, confirm the curb and roof interface with the installer before selecting dimensions.
Choose the visible details together
Review the collector or skylight appearance at the roof and the diffuser or opening from inside the room. Confirm glazing, diffuser, flashing and control compatibility as one selection. The room photographs are illustrative; they do not promise a particular daylight level at your property.
Prepare the enquiry
Send the room name, project location, roof and ceiling photographs, approximate position and any known roof information. Say whether this replaces an existing unit or is a new opening. Request the current brochure for the proposed configuration and have the appropriate installer confirm site conditions before ordering.
